LOOKING FOR A CHALLENGE?
As part of a Belgian, British and Slovene consortium, Mercury Promotions is bidding for the job of promoting the EU in Romania. We need a total of 7 people for the dynamic team we are putting together to increase awareness about the EU in Romania. The job will last for one year and is extendable for a total of 2 years. All jobs will be based in Bucharest and the estimated start date is early November.

THE OPPORTUNITIES
1. Project Manager
Reponsibilities:
7 coordinating all aspects of the project;
7 reporting to the EC Delegation.
Requirements:
7 at least 10 years of management experience (in more than one country);
7 experience in managing EU funded projects;
7 good knowledge of Romanian public affairs;
7 good contacts in the Romanian and international media
2. Publications Officer
Responsibilities:
7 editing and proof reading all material that will be produced and circulated by the project (and on behalf of the EU).
Requirements:
7 excellent writer abilities (journalism/editorial experience would be an advantage)
7 good knowledge of the EU;
7 fluency in English and Romanian;
7 experience of communications activities within an international institution.
3. Head of Information Services
Responsibilities:
7 running the EC information centre on Calea Victoriei;
7 coordinating the flow of information from the EU to the press and public
Requirements:
7 excellent knowledge of EU matters;
7 at least 5 years management experience - of which three years should have been in "Information management";
7 fluent in both English and Romanian.
7 journalism experience would be an advantage
4. Networking and Special Target Group Manager
Responsibilities:
7 networking and developing activities for communicating with the "special target groups" (youth and rural population).
Requirements:
7 at least 3 years experience in networking activities (building networks or networking strategies) and information resources;
7 good knowledge and contacts in the regions of Romania;
7 good understanding of EU affairs.
7 experience with the media would be an advantage
5. Public Affairs and Events Manager
Responsibilities:
7 Co-ordinating all public events, seminars, training and conferences
Requirements:
7 at least 3 years experience in PR and in organising various kinds of public events with EU relevance.
7 very good knowledge of the Romanian public (the main target group)
7 good working understanding of EU affairs
6. Procurement Officer
Responsibilities:
7 procuring supplies and arranging contracts, in strict accordance with the EU procedures.
Requirements:
7 at least 3 years experience in procurement and contractual management;
7 acknowledged expertise in EC tendering procedures
7. Finance and Administration Manager.
Responsibilities:
7 managing the finances according to the strict EU regulations.
Requirements:
7 at least three years of finance management or supervision experience;
7 experience in working with EU finance procedures would be a major advantage.
